Break is a 13-part television series that was produced in 1971 by the TV Union Berlin on behalf of ZDF. The scripts were created by Carl Darrow and Hans -Peter Renfranz. Responsible for the camera work were Helmut Bahr and Holger Wenck. Film music contributed Rolf Bauer added. It was directed by Austrian-born Ernst Hofbauer.

Archeology Professor Chris Schulz teaches in lectures and seminars at his university regularly on the Eagle Mountain - culture. The professors Wienert and Hubschmied ( Friedrich Schoenfelder ) as his superiors warn him from it. The reason: In your opinion, is there for the existence of such a culture in the Bronze Age there was insufficient evidence and that is why Professor Schulz would harm with his remarks to the scientific reputation of the university. Professor Schulz countered that there would be enough evidence, if one were to make only the corresponding excavations.

Schulz offers to make during the holidays the excavations themselves and to provide the requested evidence so personally. After he has wagered on his professorship, he drives accompanied by assistant Ellen with a Land Rover over Austria, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria to Romania, always the theory a 4,000- year-old trading route from the Black Sea Worms following.

Gerhard Lippert was an already well-known TV series actor. Raimund Harmstorf played here a sympathetic, hippie liable dropouts and spoke here ( other than in its role as a violent " Sea Wolf" ) with his own voice. He had a northern German accent as to the part played by him protagonist of the novel The Sea Wolf by Jack London reminded rather of performers Ohnsorg theater.

Brigitte Mira played in a Supporting Role (Professor Kaiser), the critic of Professor Schulz. Other supporting cast include Günter Kieslich and Friedrich Schoenfelder.
