Semi Joseph Begun

Semi Joseph Begun ( born December 2, 1905 in Gdansk, † January 5, 1995 in Cleveland, Ohio) was a pioneer of magnetic recording.

Life

Semi J. Begun in 1933 in Berlin acquired his doctorate in electrical engineering. He then went to Lorenz AG, the German subsidiary of ITT. There Begun built, based on the magnetic recording on a wire, his first prototype of a Diktiermaschine that was in the 1930s, very popular in Europe.

In 1935 immigrated Semi J. Begun in the U.S., where he but the broadcasting company could not convince them of the magnetic recording.
