Seminci

The Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid (Valladolid International Film Festival), abbreviated Seminci, is in the northwestern Spanish city of Valladolid held annually since 1956 Film Festival.

Until 1959 it was known as the Semana Internacional de Cine Religioso, 1960-1971 Semana Internacional de Cine de Valores y Religioso Human and 1972 Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid - Valores y Religioso Human. Since 1973 the festival under its present name is known.

History

Until 1972 the Seminci specializing in religious themes. Famous participants were Ingmar Bergman, Luis Bunuel, Francois Truffaut, Andrzej Wajda, Federico Fellini, Ermanno Olmi, Sophia Loren and Yılmaz Güney.

The top prize in international competition since 1974 Golden ear of wheat, the Espiga de Oro. Numerous other prizes will be awarded, including, since 1996, a FIPRESCI Prize.
