Senate of Kazakhstan

The Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Russian Сенат Парламента Республики Казахстана, Kazakh Қазақстан Республикасы Парламентіның Сенаты ) is the upper house in the bicameral parliamentary system of Kazakhstan. The Senate has its headquarters in the capital Astana.

Election of deputies to the Senate

The House of Lords 47 basic mandates, where the number is changing, as the former president move in after their tenure in the Senate. The members of the Senate are determined as follows:

The members of the Kazakh Senate are elected for six years, with half of the members every 3 years is redetermined. Each deputy must be at least 30 years old and highly qualified in living in the area to be taken at least three years and have a job in five years.

Tasks of the Senate

The Senate is known as the House of Parliament responsible for the legislation with the Mäschilis. The law or the bill comes only after processing in Mäschilis in the Senate.

Other tasks of the Senate:

  • Appointment of the President of your choice or dismissal of the President for customization or office at the end
  • Appointment or dismissal of the Chairman of the Supreme Court and the members of the Supreme Court
  • Approval or rejection of the chairman appointed by the President of the National Bank, Attorney General, the Chairman of the Committee for National Security
  • Deprivation of inviolability of the Attorney General, the Chairman and judges of the Supreme Court
  • Appoint two members of the Constitutional Council
