Seneca River (South Carolina)

Template: Infobox River / Obsolete

The Seneca River ( formerly Isundiga River ) is formed by the confluence of the Keowee River and Twelvemile Creek in northwestern South Carolina, below the Lake Keowee at Clemson. Previously flowed along the two rivers Seneca River and Tugaloo River and formed the Savannah River. By damming the Savannah River, the Seneca River has now become a 34 km long arm of Lake Hartwell.

The separation between the Seneca River and its source river Keowee River changed over time. During the time of the American Revolution the upper reaches of the Seneca River was often called the Keowee River.

Today, on many maps of the river section of the Keowee River between Keowee Dam and its confluence with the Twelvemile Creek is called " Seneca River".
