Senonae

Senonae is not clearly localized settlement in ancient Gaul. There are many indications that Senonae the capital of the senones, so today's Sens on the Yonne in Burgundy, is possible but is also a localization in Senonian.

The later Roman emperor Julian wintered there on his campaign against the Germans in the Rhine region in the year 356, and had also a siege survive (see also Marcellus ).

Decentius, brother of the Emperor against Magnentius, died 353 AD in Senonae.
