Sénouvo Agbota Zinsou

Sénouvo Agbota Zinsou ( born June 6 1946 in Lomé, Togo ) is a Togolese author who lives as a political refugee in Bayreuth since 1993. There he works as a researcher and director of the International Studio Theatre at the University of Bayreuth.

He studied literature and theater studies in Lome, Paris and Bordeaux and ran from 1978 to 1993, the Togolese theater ensemble. Here, he was a strong critic of then President Gnassingbe Eyadema and therefore had to leave the country in 1993. In 1989 he earned his doctorate at the University of Bordeaux. From 1987 to 1990 he also served as President of the Association of the Gens de Lettres Togolaise.
