Seogwipo

Seogwipo ( Jeju -si ) is a city in the island province of Jeju in South Korea.

Geography

Since July 2006, the city occupies the southern part of the island to complete, after which the population has increased from 84,000 inhabitants in 2003 to now approximately 156,000 inhabitants.

Sport and Leisure

As part of the Football World Cup 2002, three games were played in Seogwipo, including the knockout stages between Germany and Paraguay.

In Seogwipo will be held in July since 2000, the Korea Triathlon Jeju annually. In this triathlon over the Ironman distance is 3.86 km swim, 180.2 km cycling to cope 42.195 km running for the athletes.
