Serba

Serba is a municipality in the east of Thuringia, Saale- wood - country circuit and fulfilling part of municipality Bad Klosterlausnitz. Besides Serba there are the districts defiance and Klengel.

Location

Serba is located east of the city Biirgel and just west of Federal Highway 9 and on the main road 7 Jena Eisenberg. The district of the town is surrounded to the west, east and south by forest.

History

Serba is a purely Sorbian foundation and looks back on over 800 years of history. Of which still bear witness to the many three-and four side yards and preserved in its original form remaining manor in Klengel. In addition to agriculture and the crafts became gradually more and more importance, such as the stove and fireplace, the construction and carpentry, as well as the butcher and baker's trade. Thanks to the many lying around the place water is a lively fish trade developed. Attractions

  • In the source trough north of the inn to the three goats is the source area of the Wethau. A parcel of it called the Devil meadow. The name of the guest house and the meadow suggest a pre-Christian place of worship.
