Serco Group plc is listed on the London Stock Exchange and constituent of the FTSE 100 Index -listed British service companies. Its headquarters is located in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Serco was founded in 1929 as the British Department of Radio Corporation of America under the name "RCA Services Limited " and performed services for the film industry. The company renamed itself in 1987 in " Serco Limited" to changing its name to the IPO in 1988 Serco Group plc to.

Serco is active in Europe, the Middle East, East Asia, Australia and North America, generates most of its sales but still in the UK. The clients are mainly from the public sector. The company's growth is based mainly on the trend towards outsourcing of services. SERCOS activities include technical assistance to the Ministry of Defence, IT support services, air traffic control, satellite control and traffic management systems.
