Serena Ryder

Serena Ryder ( born December 8, 1983 in Toronto, Ontario ) is a Canadian singer and guitarist.

Life

Ryder had already as a teenager appearances. Both as a solo artist and in various bands 1999 was released with the first CD Falling Out with self-written by her songs on the independent label Mime Radio from Peterborough (Ontario). Then appeared with Serena ( 1999 only on cassette), Live at The Market Hall, A Day In the Studio (both 2002) and Serena Ryder Live (2003) independent EPs and live recordings.

2005 Unlikely Emergency appeared at Hawksley Workman's label, Isadora Records. The next album If Your Memory Serves You Well came out the following year at the major label EMI. Published in 2007, the EP Ryder Told You in a Whispered Song and in November 2008, their album Is It OK (so far only in Canada).

In 2007 she received the Canadian Juno Award for Young Artist of the Year.
