Sergei Fokin (footballer)

Sergei Alexandrovich Fokine (Russian: Сергей Александрович Фокин; born July 26, 1961 in Ulyanovsk ) is a former football player living in Germany of Russian origin.

Fokin is 1,82 m tall and weighed 78 kg in his playing days. He played as a defender for the CSKA Moscow and was used in various Soviet representative teams. At the Olympic football tournament in 1988 in South Korea, he won the gold medal with the team of the USSR. With the Football World Cup 1990 in Italy he was in the line-up of the USSR.

In 1992 he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for Eintracht Braunschweig. There he played - still mostly on the position of a defender - in the second or third highest German league. In Eintracht Braunschweig he played until he ended his active career in 1999. He thereafter remained in Germany and lives with his family near Braunschweig.
