Sergei Mylnikov

Sergei Alexandrovich Mylnikov (Russian: Сергей Александрович Мыльников; born October 6, 1958 in Chelyabinsk) is a former Russian professional ice hockey goaltender.

Career

During his career he played for HC Traktor Chelyabinsk and SKA St. Petersburg. NHL Entry Draft 1989, he was selected in the 7th round to 127th place by the Quebec Nordiques. Even before the collapse of the Soviet Union, he played in 1989 /90 season in the National Hockey League. Overall, he was in 391 games in the Soviet league in goal. He was appointed to the team of the Soviet national ice hockey team. On 11 December 1984 he was in a game against Czechoslovakia for the first time for the Sbornaja on the ice. His international career was crowned with the gold medal at the Olympic Winter Games 1988. For the national team, he was in 67 international matches between the posts. On April 22, 1990 he played his last international match. In 1985, he was inducted into the "Russian Hockey Hall of Fame".
