Sergei Rudenko (general)

Sergei Rudenko Ignatievich (Russian: Сергей Игнатьевич Руденко, scientific transliteration Sergei Rudenko Ignat'evič; * 7.jul / October 20 1904greg in Korop, today in the Chernihiv Oblast, .. † July 10, 1990 in Moscow) was a Soviet pilot.

Life

In 1923 Rudenko to the military. He attended the Military Aviation School in 1927, 1928 Member of the CPSU, moved to the Zhukovsky Institute and graduated from there in 1932. He remained there and deepened his studies until 1936. Rudenko commanded various flying units and was named commanding general of the 16th Air Army Colonel on 19 August 1944 as a Hero of the Soviet Union for his services in the organization of the Air Army.

After the war, in 1946, was called Rudenko as deputies in the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. In 1953 he was promoted to Chief of Staff of the Air Force, 1955 he was Marshal of the flyers. In May 1968, he was for several years head of the Military Academy of the Air Force, " J. A. Gagarin ". He was appointed professor in 1972 and 1973, he became inspector in the Ministry of Defence.

For his work he has won many awards, he received only five times the Order of Lenin.

In 1976, he published his memoirs ( Крылья победы, German Wings of Victory).
