Sergei Yashin

Sergei Anatoljevich Yashin (Russian: Сергей Анатольевич Яшин; born March 6, 1962 in Penza, Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player and current coach.

Career

Sergei Yashin played from 1969 to 1980 at Diselist Penza in Russia. For the season 1979/80 he moved to Dynamo Moscow, where he played until 1990. In addition, he was a member of the USSR national team.

During the NHL Entry Draft in 1989, he was selected in the seventh round in a total of 141 instead of the person in charge of the Edmonton Oilers. In the 1990/91 season he played for Dynamo Berlin in the 1st Bundesliga. After only one year, he left Germany again and signed in the summer of 1991 a contract with HC Davos in Switzerland. In 1992 he then moved back to his native Russia to SKA St. Petersburg. From 1992 to 1994 he played for EHC food. In 1994, he joined the EC Wilhelmshaven, where he remained until 1997. In the 1997/98 season he was again active in Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk in Russia. In 1998, he played for the ERC Selb. From 1998 to 2000, he once again showed his skill in the EC Wilhelmshaven.

Sergei Yashin been working since 2000 as a trainer; to 2005 at the Jadehaien Wilhelmshaven. In the 2005/06 season he coached the Revierlöwen Oberhausen, which, at that time were active in the third highest German ice hockey league, the hockey league. From 2006 to 2008 he was at the bonds of REC Piranhas Rostock. From 2008 to 2010, he trained in the Netherlands, Groningen Grizzlies. Since 2010 he has been head coach of the Stars Weser of Bremen. Since 2011, he also coached the youth team of the Bremen EC.

In 1998, he was inducted into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame.
