Sergio Amidei

Sergio Amidei ( born October 30, 1904 in Trieste, † April 14, 1981 in Rome ) was an Italian screenwriter.

Life

Amidei has worked as a young man in various assistant function in the film industry, the first film of his script was created in 1938. After initially rather inconsequential melodrama he was from the year 1944, when he wrote the screenplay for " Rome, Open City ", one of the leading representatives of cinematic neorealism. After its short flowering followed over the years again less significant work before Amidei his career with the screenplays for " The most beautiful Soirée my life " and " The Flight to Varennes " graduated and thus returned to the successes of the immediate postwar period.
