Sergio Brio

Sergio Brio ( born August 19, 1956 in Lecce ) is an Italian former football player and coach.

Brio has spent most of his career as a defender at Juventus.

Career

As a player

Sergio Brio began his career at the club of his hometown of Lecce, in the 1973/74 season in Serie C1. At the age of 18 years, in October 1974, he was engaged by Juventus, who then loaned him for three seasons for AC Pistoiese. There he completed a total of 96 games and gained valuable experience.

In the summer of 1978, he finally went to Juve and celebrated on 18 March 1979 with a 1-0 win over Napoli his Serie A debut. Sergio Brio remained until 1990 in Turin and was under trainers such as Giovanni Trapattoni or Dino Zoff celebrate great successes. He was in the entire time an important player in the first team and is one of the few players to have won all national and international competitions at club level in their career.

Sergio Brio completed a total of 243 Serie A appearances for Juventus when she met 16 times, a total he played for Juve 378 times and scored 24 goals.

As a coach

After his retirement Brio worked as an assistant coach of Giovanni Trapattoni at Juventus and Cagliari Calcio at later. In the 2003 /04 season he coached the Belgian club RAEC Mons in the First Division.

In April 2010, Brio completed a cameo appearance in the hit comedy series Boris ( Season 3, Episode 11 ).
