Sergio Parisse

Sergio Parisse ( born September 12, 1983 in La Plata, Argentina ) is an Italian rugby union player who is active for Stade Français and the Italian national team. He plays the position number 8 Like many other Italian rugby union players grew Parisse in Argentina; his parents had previously emigrated from Italy.

Parisse was 2002, his debut at the 30:64 defeat against New Zealand. He quickly became one of the key players in the Azzurri, a serious injury threw him in 2004 but far back. He joined the brothers Mauro and Mirco Bergamasco and moved from the Italian league in the Top 14 for Stade Français.

In 2008 he took over the captaincy for the first time with the national team and became one of the most outstanding player of the Six Nations this year. Based on this performance he was nominated by the International Rugby Board in addition to the Scots Mike Blair, the New Zealander Daniel Carter and the Welsh Ryan Jones and Shane Williams Player of the Year. Williams won the election.

Parisse is for quite some time romantically involved with former Miss France and Miss Europe Alexandra Rosenfeld.
