Sergio Sollima
Sergio Sollima ( born April 17, 1921 in Rome ) is an Italian screenwriter and film director.
Life
After a few spy movies still under the pseudonym Simon Sterling Sollima turned as a director in the 1960s, three spaghetti westerns with Tomas Milian: The Gundown (La resa dei conti ), Face to Face ( Faccia a faccia ) and Run For Your Life ( Corri, uomo, corri ) - the so-called ' Cuchillo trilogy '. Milian as a young, rebellious man standing in these films different father figures to the side.
Sollima's films are often inspired by the social ideology and often use the contrast between rich and poor.
After turning to crime film he shot in the late 1970s, the Sandokan TV miniseries with Kabir Bedi in the lead role and another Korsarenfilm with the same actor.
His son Stefano Sollima ( b. 1966 ) is also a film director.
