Serial Digital Video Out

ADD2 refers to a special interface based on a PCIe slot of a PC motherboards with Intel chipsets that have the integrated GMA graphics chip. ADD2 is a continuation of ADD ( AGP Digital Display ). About special ADD2 adapter can be used to output the graphics signal depending on the application by various ADD2 cards in digital or analog form to other devices (monitor, TV, HDTV). The slot is referred to as SDVO (Serial Digital Video Output ).

The advantage of using an ADD2 card for the end user is the flexible use of the graphics signal. Motherboards with integrated graphics (so-called onboard graphics ) possessed at the time of these chipsets usually just a simple analog D -Sub output.
