Extreme Memory Profiles (XMP ) are introduced by Intel certifications for DDR3 memory modules from the PC area. This certification is designed to facilitate the utilization of the memory speed and thereby guarantee a stable operation. On the supported chipsets will this allow easier overclocking the systems and thus enable a stable operation of the memory modules outside the specified JEDEC standard for memory modules.
