Serkan Aykut

Serkan Aykut ( born February 24, 1975 in Ankara ) is a former Turkish football player.

Club career

Serkan Aykut started his career in 1992 at Samsunspor and spent the next eight years there. In the season 1999/2000 Aykut was top scorer of the season with 30 goals. Galatasaray, at that time new UEFA Cup winners, then signed him as a replacement for Hakan Şükür. There he remained for two years. In time, the team UEFA Super Cup winner and Turkish champion. For the season 2002/ 03 he returned to his old site of action Samsunspor and played here until the end of season 2008 /09. Then he ended his active career as a professional footballer.

Overall, Serkan Aykut played 336 games in the Süper Lig, scoring 188 goals and is on the 7th place of the record scorer in the Süper Lig

Aykut played for Turkey once and that on 12 February 1997 against Finland.
