Serra del Cadi

The 40- km long mountain range Serra del Cadi is part of the Pre- Pyrenees, located in the north of Catalonia, Spain. The oriented in an east-west axis is solid in the field of Comarcas Alt Urgell, Cerdanya and Berguedà. It is bordered to the north by the Pyrenees, on the south by the river Riu de Lavansa and its tributaries, to the west by the mountain range Monsec de Tost and ranges in the east to the mountain Comabona.

Nature Park

Together with the Serra de Moixeró, the Tosa d' Alp Massive, Puigllançada and Pedraforca forms the Serra del Cadi the natural park Parque Natural del Cadi -Moixeró.

Geology

The existing limestone mountains were formed during the Tertiary. The crest of the Serra del Cadi runs at an altitude 2500-2600 m, the northern slope while the southern slope steeply has a uniform gradient over a height of more than 500 m.

Summit

The highest peaks are Cap de la Fesa ( 2,391 m), Pic del Cabirol ( 2,457 m), Coll de la Canal Baridana ( 2,501 m), Coll de Llitze ( 2,506 m), Torreta de Cadi ( 2,562 m), Puig de la Canal del Cristall ( 2,563 m), Puig del Quer ( 2,568 m), Salt del Sastre ( 2,591 m), Pic de Costa Cabirolera ( 2,604 m), Pujolar de Roca Grossa ( 2,613 m) and the highest peak, Vulturo ( 2,648 m).
