Servette

Servette and La Servette is a district of the Swiss city of Geneva. It lies on both sides of the street rue de la Servette, on the right bank of the Rhone, north-west from the station. Gained notoriety has Servette primarily by the football club Servette FC Genève and the Hockey Club Genève -Servette HC.

The name Servette goes back to the Latin term for forest Silva. So Servette designated a small forest. In fact, Servette was before the building a forest and arable area.
