Service Interface for Real Time Information
The Service Interface for Real Time Information or SIRI is an XML protocol for exchanging real-time information in the field of public transport.
Originally SIRI developed by companies and associations of public transport from France, Germany ( VDV), Scandinavia and the UK ( Ships ). In October 2006 it was taken over by the CEN under the number CEN / TS 15531 as a European Standard. SIRI is based on the different national standards Trans Model, VDV453, VDV454, RTIGXml and Trident.
Use
About the SIRI interface can exchange two servers real-time information about the timetable, the rolling stock and the connections of a transport company. Mostly, this interface is used to exchange information between two computer-based operational control systems (RBL ).
It is possible, for example, for operation across
- Provide timetable information for indicators at bus stops and other information services,
- Exchange expected arrival or departure times,
- To secure connections between vehicles and
- Exchange general status information.
Applications
Since 2008 is also used SIRI at Stadtwerke München (SWM ) next to the German standard VDV453, including the coupling of the RBLs for bus services on the Internet information www.mvg - live.de.
