Service Provisioning Markup Language

The Service Provisioning Markup Language ( SPML ) is an XML -based framework, developed by OASIS, for exchanging user, resource and service provisioning information between cooperating organizations.

" Service Provisioning " describes generally the preparation of certain (IT) activities.

SPML standardization

The Service Provisioning Markup Language is an open standard for the integration and transmission of service provisioning requests. SPML version 1.0 was released by OASIS as a standard in October 2003. In April 2006, the version was 2.0.

Service Provisioning

" Service Provisioning " describes generally the preparation of certain (IT) activities. It goes beyond the original intent of the provision of resources and refers to the management of the entire lifecycle of these resources. This includes the provisioning of digital services such as user accounts and access privileges on certain systems, networks and applications as well as with a provisioning of non- digital or "physical " resource such as mobile phones or credit cards.

"Under Provisioning refers to the automation of all the steps necessary for the administration (installation, modification and withdrawal ) user or system access permissions, and data regarding electronically provided services. "

Target

The goal of SPML 's organizations to enable the safe and rapid creation of user interfaces for Web services and applications without having to bind to proprietary solutions. This is achieved by SPML Enterprise platforms such as Web portals, application servers and service centers it is possible to generate internal and cross-company commission Inga questions.

Example 1

A supplier ( Company A ) uses the portal of a business partner ( Company B ) to make a request for the inventory, which is stored in a back-office system. In response to the request company B initiates an SPML request to the SPML -enabled identity management software company A. After the required permissions automatically were determined, grants Company B Company A the appropriate Access Level to gain access to the data to allow the company A needs. This process takes place without the portal environment would have profound knowledge of the back-office area. In other words, it all runs automatically.

Example 2

The HR department of a provider adds a new employee added to its personnel system. The personnel system generates an SPML document. This is passed to the provisioning system and triggers the creation of the corresponding internal user accounts for the new employee from. The internal provisioning system routes the document on to the provisioning system a customer, there to cause the generation of corresponding user accounts. (according to )
