Service Star

Service Star (also Battlestar, Campaign Star or engagement star called ) is an attachment to the medals and decorations of the Armed Forces of the United States who have been awarded one or more times during military operations. They are awarded for service or campaign award, in which case five bronze stars are replaced by a silver (not to be confused with the Bronze Star and Silver Star Medal ). Service Stars differ from the so-called Stars Award. These are awarded for multiple awards of the same fight-or bravery, but in this case is that a silver star replaces five golden stars. They are used by the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Coast Guard instead of the Oak Leaves.
