Servigliano

Servigliano ( in the local dialect as Sarvejà, Serveja or Servijà ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2349 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Fermo in the Marche. The community is located about 20.5 km west- southwest of Fermo on Tenna and directly borders the province of Macerata.

History

The original ancient settlement was already named after the gens Servilia and was about four kilometers from the town center today. From 1771 to 1863 was the place name Castel Clementino, as Pope Clement XIV here wanted to build a residence, but only under Pius VI. was completed.
