The Servizio Militare Meteorologico dell'Aeronautica ( MeteoAM ) is an organizational unit of the Italian Air Force and as such the national meteorological service in Italy. His weather forecasts and other services serve both the armed forces and the general public.
Organization

History
A first national weather service was established under the name of Regio Ufficio Centrale di Meteorologia (Eng. "Royal Central Bureau of Meteorology" ) in Rome on 26 November 1876. 1880 took over the Hydrographic Office in Genoa, the tasks of the Weather Service for shipping. The development of aviation led in Italy on February 27, 1913 to the creation of special regional weather service Servizio Italiano Aerologico.
