Seth Jones (ice hockey)

Seth Jones ( born October 3, 1994 Plano, Texas ) is an American professional ice hockey player on the position of the defender. Since July 2013 he is with the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Jones played from 2008 to 2010 junior with the Dallas Stars. When Bantam Draft 2009, the Western Hockey League ( WHL), he was selected in the first round in eleventh position of the Everett Silvertips. But Jones opted for a change in the U.S. National Team Development Program and played from then two years in the United States Hockey League. On 23 April 2012, the Silvertips Jones transferred ' WHL rights to the Portland Winter Hawks. Two weeks later, he signed a contract with the Winter Hawks of the WHL player for season 2012/13 binds to the club, after Portland gave the completion of the transfers with the Silvertips four players to Everett.

Seth Jones represented his country with the U.S. national team for the first time in 2011 at the World U -17 Hockey Challenge. In this tournament, he won the silver medal, after a final defeat against Team Canada Ontario. Additional Jones was elected to the All- Star team of the tournament. Another use for Team USA, he had at the Americans won the final match against the Swedish selection for a match in overtime in the same year at the U18 World Youth Championship 2011. In the U18 World Cup in the following year, Team USA won again after a win against the Swedish team the gold medal. Seth Jones ran it as a team captain on and scored in six games, eight points scorer and was the second best points scorer of Americans behind Nicholas Kerdiles.

Also in the U20 World Youth Championship in 2013 he beat his team in the final of the Swedish selection and thus won his third gold medal at the Junior World Championships in a row. Jones acted in this tournament as an assistant captain and scored in seven games as many points.
