Seth Riggs

Seth Riggs ( born September 19, 1930 in the U.S.) is an American vocal coach and founder of Speech Level Singing.

Life

Riggs began singing at the age of nine years at the Washington National Cathedral. As a result, he was informed by top instructors of the American entertainment industry in all areas of performing arts. He spent ten years on Broadway, appeared as a guest artist at the New York City Opera and was a member of various American Performingverbände, including the Screen Actors Guild.

During this time he also began his teaching career. Since his method was then considered as unconventional and partially met with rejection, he was expelled from the National Association of singing teacher and also lost his positions at colleges. Then he left New York and started his own vocal technique school in Los Angeles. In addition, he is now master classes at colleges and universities in the field of voice training throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. He also works with medical professionals together in the treatment and prevention of organic and functional voice problems in the context of voice therapy.

Among his pupils were over 100 Grammy winners, 4 winners of the Metropolitan Opera and multiple Tony Award winner (Broadway), including Natalie Cole, Whoopie Goldberg, Josh Groban, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Anthony Kiedis, Val Kilmer, Sinéad O'Connor, Barbra Streisand, Luther Vandross and Stevie Wonder.

Riggs married again 15 years after the death of his first wife, Kathleen. His wife Margareta Svensson which was known in Swedish television in a reality show. With Kathleen Riggs Riggs had 7 children, with Margareta Svensson Riggs he has a daughter. He became a father with over 80 years again.
