Sethrida Geagea

(Written in Arabic ستريدا جعجع, also Sitrida or Setrida, born 1967 in Kumasi, Ghana ) Sethrida Taouk - Geagea is a Lebanese politician.

The niece of Gibran Taouk, a longtime member of the Lebanese National Assembly for the electoral district Bsharri, was born in Ghana in a known Maronite family, who had a business in West Africa. As a teenager she was in Lebanon for its beauty at the center of the media. She became politically active while studying political science at the Lebanese American University. Here she met the leader of the Lebanese Forces (FL ), Samir Geagea, whom she later married.

She was one of the few politicians who publicly criticized the Syrian occupation of Lebanon and led the FL during the time, was detained at the Samir Geagea, as its chairman.

Sitrida Geagea won in the election of 2005, the Maronite own seat in the constituency Bsharri and has been Member of Parliament.
