Setthathirath II

Sai Setthathirath II (birth name: Sai Ong Hue, full throne name Somdet Brhat Chao Maha Sri Jaya Setha Adiraja Dharmikaraja Chandrapuri Sri Sadhana Kanayudhi; * 1685 in Hue, Annam, † 1730 in Vientiane) was 1698-1706 King of the Lao kingdom of Lan Xang. After its split into three sub- kingdoms he received the throne in the Kingdom of Vientiane.

Sai Ong Hue was the eldest son of Prince ( Sadu Chaofa ) Somaputra ( Somphu ) and his second wife, Princess Sumngala Kumari, a daughter of King Sulingvongse of Lan Xang (reigned 1638-1690 ). His family fled with him to Annam after the usurper Tian Thala had usurped the throne.
