Seurre

Seurre is a French small town with 2436 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) and is the administrative center ( chef-lieu ) of the eponymous canton in the arrondissement of Beaune of the Côte-d'Or département of the Burgundy region.

In an idyllic location situated on the Saône, she has a small marina. Despite a turbulent history, during which parts of the city were destroyed, are still several interesting buildings, including an old hospice (Hôtel -Dieu ) in the old town. In another of these older houses there is a local history museum and a tourist office. The church of St. Martin is remarkable both for its architecture as well as by their Julien- Tribuot organ from 1699 and her carillon with 47 bells.

On the edge of town there is the open air museum L' Etang rouge showing there rebuilt old village houses the Saône Valley.

Tourism is an important industry in Seurre, there are two hotels, two chambres d' hôte pensions and three campgrounds. Well-maintained roads lead from Seurre to other places of interest to highlight are Chalon -sur -Saône and Citeaux.
