Sevdalinka

Sevdalinka is a musical genre and refers to the traditional, original urban love poetry in Bosnia and the Sanjak of Novi Pazar. It is the folk music of Bosniaks. Sevdah (Turkish love, arabic black bile ) generally stands for the Bosnian tradition and folklore. You should - like the Portuguese saudade - generally describe a melancholy and mournful mood, which is most often created by feelings of love or deeper, often unrequited passion of a person, a city or a region opposite.

The history of Sevdalinka goes back to the 16th century. In the Ottoman Empire, there was initially the solo, and later accompanied by the saz, accordion, violin, tambourine and guitar.
