Seven Brothers (islands)
The Sawabi Islands (or Dschazirat Seba and Dschazirat Sowabih, French and Sept Frères, Eng. Seven Brothers, dt " Seven Brothers " ) is a six uninhabited islands, belonging to Djibouti archipelago in the Strait of Bab al - Mandab between red Sea and the Indian Ocean. They belong to the region Obock.
The islands from west to east:
- Hamra ( West Island, Red Island )
- ' Ounḏa Dâbali ( Ile Double )
- Tolka ( Ile Basse )
- Kadda Dâbali ( Big Island )
- Uzhgorod le ' Ale ( East Island )
- ' Ounḏa Kômaytou ( South Island )
Kadda Dâbali ( Big Island ) accounts for more than half the area of the archipelago, some 50 hectares of a total of 90 hectares. With a height of 114 meters it is the highest of the six islands.
Occasionally, the Ras Siyyân Peninsula is referred to as part of the archipelago. Ras Siyyân culminates in a 138 -meter-high volcano. The islands are located at a distance from 4.5 to 14 kilometers from Ras Siyyân.
