Seward County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Liberal.

Geography

The County is located in southwest Kansas, on the south by Oklahoma and has an area of ​​1659 square kilometers, of which three square miles are water. It borders in Kansas clockwise to the following counties: Haskell County, Meade County and Stevens County.

History

Seward County was formed on 20 March 1873. It was named after William Henry Seward, an American politician and Secretary of State under U.S. President Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Jackson.
