Seychelles Football Federation
The Seychelles Football Federation is the Football Federation of the island republic of Seychelles. Your subordinate to the national championship mode ( Seychelles League as the highest class) and the national team. The association was founded in 1979 and is a member of FIFA and CAF since 1986.
Football in Seychelles
Football was brought from Europe in the 1930s to the Seychelles. although there were no organized sports, football soon became a popular sport. The first " international " games were played on the Gordon Square (now Freedom Square ) in Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles, between local teams and crews. 1936 was played for the first time a Cupbewerb who gave an unexpected boost to football. The current president of the association, Suketu Patel, has held important posts in both the FIFA and CAF, as a member of the FIFA Committee for the U 17 World Cup, at the CAF, he is Chairman of the Finance Committee and Vice Chairman of the Committee for Women's Football.
National
The national team took over in 1986 for the first time in the qualifiers for the African Cup in part, but failed to qualify so far. Women's Soccer
