Seydou Keïta (photographer)

Seydou Keita (* 1923 in Bamako, Mali, then French Sudan; † 21 November 2001 in Paris, France ) was a Photography Artist from Mali; he is regarded as one of the most important photographers of Africa.

He is best known for its portraits of people and families that he recorded between 1940 and the early sixties, known. Keïta was an autodidact. His images are recognized as records of Malian society and also as works of art.
