Seytroux

Seytroux is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Seytroux is located at 850 m above sea level. M., 18 km southeast of the town of Thonon -les- Bains ( straight line ). The mountain village is located in the central Chablais, in a left tributary of the Dranse de Morzine, in the northern Savoy Alps.

The area of ​​18:44 km ² municipal area includes a section of the Vallée d' Aulps. The eastern border is the Dranse de Morzine, which here runs in a partially deep valley from south to north. From this river, the municipality's area extends to the southwest, and occupies the entire catchment area of ​​the village of Bach's Seytroux. This wooded valley in the north of the Pointe du Clocher (1492 m above sea level. M. ), in the west of the Pointe de la Gay ( with 1802 meters above sea level. History

Seytroux was an independent municipality until 1837, before that it belonged to Le Biot.

Attractions

The village church of Seytroux was built in the 19th century. A chapel is located in the hamlet of Saint -Martin.

Population

With 430 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Seytroux one of the smallest municipalities in the department of Haute- Savoie. In the second half of the 20th century, the population remained at a constant level. Only since 2000, a significant increase in population is recorded.

Economy and infrastructure

Seytroux is a predominantly agricultural village today. The village is located off the major thoroughfares, but is relatively easily accessible from the main road that leads from Thonon -les- Bains to Morzine.
