The Airport Sfax Thyna (English: Sfax Thyna International Airport, French: Aéroport International de Sfax - Thyna, Arabic: مطار صفاقس الدولي, ICAO code: DTTX, IATA code: SFA) operates the Tunisian Sfax and the surrounding Sahel.

The airport is located six kilometers south-west of Sfax, was put into operation in 1980 and covers an area of ​​327 hectares on the territory of the municipality of Thyna. He's registered office and main hub of the Tunisian airline Syphax Airlines.

Like the vast majority of the Tunisian airports airport from the Tunisian Civil Aviation and Airports Authority is managed. He is also a military airfield of the Tunisian Air Force.

The airport has undergone several extensions and improvements, the most important were the conversion of the terminal in 1988, the strengthening and expansion of the airstrip in 1989, the construction of a cargo terminal for freight in 1996, the commissioning of new infrastructure ( hangars, taxiways, parking for aircraft, etc. ) as well as the construction of a new control tower and an equipment room. With an area of ​​2,000 m², the terminal originally had a capacity of 200,000 passengers per year. The construction of a new terminal with 8000 sq m, consisting of three buildings, began on 8 November 2005 and was completed on 22 December 2007 with the inauguration. At a total cost of sixteen million dinars, the airport now has a capacity of 500,000 passengers per year. A total budget of 25 million dinars were invested in the airport and the airport also got a much-needed facelift ( Tower, airstrip and parking ). 2013 has been started with the expansion of the parking lot on a total area of ​​17,000 m² and the expansion of the terminal for one million passengers per year.
