SG Essen

The SG Essen is an association of swimming departments of a total of 13 sports and swimming clubs from food and one of the most successful swimming Communities of West Germany. The women's team of SG Essen swims in the 1st Bundesliga swimming and was there in the last season (2008/ 09) German masters, men's team climbed confidently last year as a champion of the 2nd Bundesliga West again in the 1st Bundesliga.

The famous swimmer SG Essen are the two chest specialists world champion Mark Warnecke and Vice World Champion Anne Poleska, but who have both now ended her career. Currently the reigning World silver medalist in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay and over 50m Backstroke Daniela Samulski, the reigning World Cup Fourth and European record holder for 50m chest Hendrik Feldwehr, the Olympian Lisa Vitting and the two World Cup semi-finalists Caroline Ruhnau and Kerstin Vogel are members of the top teams in the SG Essen. The trainer is is Henning Lambertz, who is also at the same time full-time federal base coach of the DSV. Since December 2008, food is also Bundesstützpunkt swimming.
