The SGOR an Lochain Uaine (Gaelic for ' top over the little green mountain lake ) is a mountain in the Cairngorms in the Highlands of Scotland. The summit is the third highest peak in the western massif of the Cairngorms and lies between Braeriach and Cairn Toul west of the pass Lairig Ghru. Only in 1997, the mountain was added to the list of Munros, as the Scottish Mountaineering Club revised its mountain lists.

The SGOR an Lochain Uaine is an outlying mountain. All routes to the summit are in accordance with Scottish Standard as long day trips. Typically, it is committed in conjunction with other peaks: When climbing from the south in conjunction with the Cairn Toul and The Devil 's Point, whereas the first Braeriach must be exceeded on the northern route. The southern route, which begins at the Linn of Dee rapids of the River Dee near the village of Braemar, can be driven on for a large part of the route with mountain bikes.

Naming

The name of the mountain refers to the mountain lake in the northeast of the summit located Kar, the Gaelic An Lochaon Uaine ( roughly: small green lake ) is called. Sometimes the mountain is also known as Angel's Peak ( dt angel tip), such as the Ordnance Survey maps. However, this name came up in the 19th century, probably in reference to the nearby Devil's Point.
