Sha Tin District is a district of Hong Kong and is located in the New Territories north of Kowloon. In Sha Tin are the satellite towns of Sha Tin New Town and Ma On Shan New Town, built in the 1970s at the Shing Mun River.

The area of ​​the district is 69.27 km ². The population is 630,000 inhabitants, of which 295,000 men and 335,000 women, and corresponds to 8.9% of the total population of Hong Kong. Sha Tin is the most populous district of Hong Kong, where almost all residents live in one of the two New Towns. Traffic
