Shabazz Muhammad

Shabazz Muhammad Nagee ( born November 13, 1992 Long Beach, California ) is an American professional basketball player who is currently with the Minnesota Timberwolves under contract.

College

Muhammad was during his high school years as one of the greatest basketball talent in the United States. He was invited to the prestigious McDonald's All - American Game. He scored 21 points and 6 rebounds and was MVP of the game. After high school, he had offers from top colleges like Duke, Kentucky and UCLA. He chose UCLA, but has been blocked due to violation of rules for the first three games. For the Bruins, he scored in the first year 17.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game and was named first team 12 due to its good performance in the All- Pac. After the season he announced his registration for the NBA Draft 2013.

NBA

When NBA Draft 2013 Muhammad was selected in 14th place of the Utah Jazz. The Jazz transferred him shortly thereafter, along with the rights to Gorgui Dieng to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In return, Utah was awarded the rights to Trey Burke, who had recently been selected to 9 out of Minnesota.

Muhammad's sister Asia Muhammad is a professional tennis player. His uncle Stephone Paige played nine years in the NFL. Muhammad suffered since childhood from Tourette's syndrome.
