Shade River

The Shade River is a 28 km-long right tributary of the Ohio River in southeastern Ohio. It drains an area of 570 km ² and is part of the river system of the Mississippi River. The outflow is via the Ohio River and Mississippi River into the Gulf of Mexico.

The Shade River arises from the confluence of the West Branch Shade River and Middle Branch Shade River about 2 kilometers north of the town of Chester in Meigs County. The Shade River flows generally eastward meandering through the Meigs County, takes on the coming of the North East Branch Shade River and reaches the confluence with the Ohio River 3 kilometers south of the community of Long Bottom in Meigs County.
