Shahmirzad

Schahmirzād (Persian شهميرزاد ) is a small mountain town with mild climate, 240 km north-east of Tehran in the province of Semnan, Iran. It has a population varies ( depending on the season ) 5000-10000 and was calculation as recorded for 2012 with 7765.

The small town is known for its walnut orchards and surrounded by tall trees. Above the town you will find the remains of a ruined castle ( Shir Ghal'eh - "Lion Fortress" ).

The city produces its own mineral water under the name Tenāb Schahmirzād ( āb means " water").
