Shakka

Šakkan (also Schakkan ) is in the Mesopotamian mythology, the name of the god of flocks and steppe animals. His strength and his fur -like appearance manifested in the animals of the steppe. In the Epic of Gilgamesh Šakkan is compared with Enkidu and mentioned among others as god of the underworld Kurnugia in the House of Irkalla. The steppe was considered just as inhospitable as the grave.

" ( In the House Irkalla ) sits Etana, there sits Šakkan, there sits the Queen of the Underworld, Ereškigal, ( and ) Belet - Seri, an accountant of the underworld, is in front of her on her knees. "
