Shakugan no Shana

Shakugan no Shana (Japanese灼眼のシャナ) is a light novel series of Yashichiro Takahashi, illustrated by Noizi Ito. In 2005, she was made into a anime television series and manga series of Ayato Sasakura. In addition, a game for the Playstation 2, as well as an identical appeared "Nintendo DS " version.

Content

World

In addition to the human world, there is a parallel world, Guze, from which the Guze no Tomogara come, which devour the lives of the people. This take on the characteristics of the people they are supposed to represent, to appear for a certain time in the human world. The torches are becoming weaker until they finally disappear. For the balance between the human world and the Guze the Flame Haze care. Flame Haze are fighters who have entered into an alliance with a Guze no Tomogara to fight other Guze no Tomogara if they threaten the balance between the worlds. After a won battle, they make the destruction caused by the battle to reverse and convert the remaining energy of the people around in flares. Manure are special torches that have a mystical artifact with special powers in their interior. Guze no Tomogara can remove these items from such manure and use it. Action

Yuji Sakai has just finished his first day at high school, when he witnessed the attack of several channel in the pedestrian zone. These have built a Fuzetsu and a Guze no Tomogara try to eat Yuji. As a Flame Haze appears and fights against the gutter. After the battle, Yuji learns from her that he was long dead. He is no longer a man, but only the flame of existence and a manure. Light Novel

The Yashichiro written by Takahashi and Noizi Ito illustrated Light Novel series published from November 2002 to November 2012 at Dengeki Bunko in Japan. The main sequence is complete and includes 22 volumes, numbered from 0001I to 0022XXII. In addition, four short story volumes have been published, 0, S, and S0002II S0003III.

By August 2011, the Light Novel series have been sold around 8 million volumes. The first two volumes were published in English by Viz Media.

Adaptations

Manga

The manga by Ayato Sasakura appeared in the magazine Comic Dengeki Daio the publisher MediaWorks from spending 4/2005 from February 2005 until 10/2011 of 27 August 2011. The series was also summarized in ten anthologies ( tankōbon ). In the U.S., the manga has been licensed by Viz Media, which published six volumes of 17 April 2007 to 21 September 2010. A German publishing success since November 2012 in Egmont Manga with far nine volumes.

A second manga series entitled Shakugan no Shana X Eternal song: Harukanaru Uta (灼眼のシャナX Eternal song -遥か なる 歌- ) by Shii Kiya has been published since September 19, 2007 in the magazine Dengeki Black Mao. It was also summarized in the previous three anthologies.

Anime

2005 produced the studio JCStaff an anime television series with 24 episodes for Light Novel series. Here, Takashi Watanabe directed, character design originates from May Otsuka. Artistic Director was Okui Shin. The series was broadcast on 5 October 2005 to 22 March 2006 on the transmitters Chiba TV, TV Kanagawa and TV Saitama. A few days later, the broadcasts began on the transmitters Mainichi Broadcasting and TV Aichi. In 2006, Animax sent the series. The series content includes the first six volumes of the light novel.

On December 8, 2006, an OVA episode was released with the title Shakugan no Shana SP: Koi to Onsen no kogai Gakushu! (灼眼のシャナSP恋 と 温泉 の 校外 学習).

The second season ran from October 4, 2007 to March 28, 2008 on Japanese TV under the name of Shakugan no Shana Second (灼眼のシャナII) and consists of 24 episodes.

The first season of the television series has been translated into English, Korean and Polish.

From 23 October 2009, the four episodes has been published comprehensive OVA Shakugan no Shana S. The OVA deals with the relationship between Shana and Yuji.

The final season Shakugan no Shana Final ( III灼眼のシャナ) is broadcast since 7 October 2011 at the Japanese TV, in this war is the Flame Haze against the Tomogara goes on. Bel- Masque is still active and dangerous than before.

Synchronization

Music

The music of the series was composed by Kō Otani. For the first season of Mami Kawada Hishoku no Sora and Being by Kotoko were used for the opening credits. Was used Yowake Umare Kuru shōjo of Yōko Takahashi, Aka no seijaku of Yōko Ishida and Hishoku no Sora by Mami Kawada for Broadcast.

Film

On April 21, 2007 arrived in Japan, the 86- minute film Gekijōban: Shakugan no Shana in the cinemas. The film was produced by Studio JCStaff, the team was the same as in the series. The film does not tell a new story but based on the events of the first part of the series, which were slightly modified and be better focused on the Light Novel.

Game

Media Works has developed for the PlayStation 2, an adventure game that was released in March 2006 in Japan. A version of the game for Nintendo DS was released in March 2007.
