Shaler (crater)

Shaler is an impact crater on the far western edge of the lunar front side, southeast of the Mare Orientale, on the northern end of Vallis Bouvard and southeast of the crater Wright. The rim is irregular in shape, the interior largely flat.

The crater was created in 1964 officially named by the IAU by the American geologists and paleontologists Nathaniel Shaler.
